Hazel is sitting in the middle of the busy road in front of our apartment building. We received several feet of snow overnight, which closed the government down for more than a week.

Trying to overcome her frustration that despite her best efforts, her mother still stepped on at least one "creature" on her way to the peak. By "creature" Hazel means insect. The trail was riddled with black beetles, and Hazel was determined to protect the life of every last one.

The view was amazing, but two hikes in one day are definitely too much for a three-year-old.
